Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using our services. By booking a repair, leaving a device, or engaging FilTech Support in any capacity, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

1 About Us

FilTech Support is a sole trader business providing IT repair, maintenance, and technical support services to individuals and small businesses in Barnsley and the surrounding areas of South Yorkshire, United Kingdom.

References to "FilTech Support", "we", "us", or "our" in these Terms refer to the sole trader operating under the trading name FilTech Support. References to "you" or "the customer" refer to the person or entity engaging our services.

2 Acceptance of Terms

By engaging our services — whether by telephone, email, in person, or via our website — you confirm your acceptance of these Terms and Conditions in full. These terms apply to all services provided by FilTech Support.

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at our discretion.

3 Services Provided

FilTech Support offers a range of IT services including, but not limited to:

All services are subject to technical feasibility. We will inform you if a repair is not possible before any charges are incurred.

4 No Fix, No Fee Policy

Our No Fix, No Fee policy means: if we are unable to resolve the fault you brought your device in for, you will not be charged for labour. This applies to the specific fault agreed upon at the point of booking only.

The No Fix, No Fee policy does not apply in the following circumstances:

5 Pricing & Payment

All prices quoted are estimates based on the information provided at the time of booking. Final pricing may vary if additional faults are discovered during the repair process. We will always seek your approval before proceeding with any additional work.

Payment is due upon collection of your device or upon completion of the agreed service. We accept cash and bank transfer. We reserve the right to retain your device until payment is received in full.

We reserve the right to charge a storage fee for devices left uncollected beyond 30 days of the completion notification (see Section 10).

6 Data & Privacy

Important — Please back up your data before leaving your device with us. We strongly recommend that all customers back up their data prior to any repair. FilTech Support will not be held responsible for any loss of data during the repair process.

While we take all reasonable precautions to protect your data, certain repairs — including but not limited to operating system reinstallation, hard drive replacement, or virus removal — may result in data loss. We do not accept liability for any loss of data, files, software, or settings arising from any repair or service we undertake.

We will not access, copy, or share your personal data beyond what is strictly necessary to diagnose and repair your device. We comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

7 Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, FilTech Support shall not be liable for:

In any event, our total liability to you in connection with any service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us for that specific service.

Nothing in these Terms shall limit or exclude our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other matter where exclusion of liability is prohibited by law.

8 Hardware & Pre-existing Conditions

When you bring a device to FilTech Support, you acknowledge that the device may have pre-existing faults, wear, or damage that is not immediately visible. We do not accept responsibility for any failure or damage that occurs as a result of pre-existing conditions, including but not limited to:

Where practically possible, we will inform you of any risks we identify before proceeding. However, some risks only become apparent during disassembly and cannot be predicted in advance.

9 Turnaround Times

Any turnaround time or completion estimate provided is an estimate only and is not guaranteed. Delays may occur due to parts availability, the complexity of the repair, or factors outside our control.

We will notify you as soon as your device is ready for collection or if any delays are expected.

10 Uncollected Devices

You will be notified when your device is ready for collection. If a device is not collected within 30 days of notification, we reserve the right to charge a storage fee of £5 per week thereafter.

If a device remains uncollected for more than 90 days from the date of notification — and we have made reasonable attempts to contact you — we reserve the right to dispose of or recycle the device in order to recover outstanding costs.

11 Warranty Disclaimer

FilTech Support does not offer a warranty on any repairs or services unless explicitly stated in writing at the time of the job.

Where a warranty period is agreed in writing, it covers only the specific fault repaired and does not extend to unrelated faults, misuse, accidental damage, or software issues arising after collection.

Parts sourced and supplied by us may carry their own manufacturer warranty, which we will pass on to you where applicable.

12 Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law, including rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

13 Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update or amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. The most current version will always be available on our website. By continuing to use our services after any changes, you accept the updated Terms.
